video Game development

My interests

I've not been interested in video game development since the dawn of time, even though video games have always been a part of my life I never thought about creating one myself until the moment I had to realize an individual graduation project for my school. I decided to make a video game. It was rather exhausting and a long process, but that's exactly what I liked about it. It has been motivating to see what I am capable of with a lot of time, patience and commitment, having a project where I had to put my mind and body to work, and since then I've decided that that's what I want to do professionally.

Animation

I've always been a fan of film and animation, I practically grew up with Naruto and One Piece, but not long ago when I watched Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse I understood the huge potential of animation and all the different possibilities like mixing 3D and 2D and animating at different frame rates and so on. Since then, the world of animation has really caught my attention and made me think about how it's going to develop in the future.

cover art

Creating music covers is what got me interested in art. When I was 14 I got started experimenting with image editing and not long after a friend of mine who makes music asked me if I'd be able to do a cover for one of the songs he wanted to post online. I told him I didn't really feel up to the task but that I'd give it a try. In the end I worked with him for two years.

programming and hacking

For a long time, I wasn't sure what I was going to do with my life, but before I started getting interested in art, I was interested in technology and more specifically in how I could access things that were forbidden to me. In order to make myself clear, this wasn't for malicious purposes, but just out of curiosity as to how it worked and how I could protect myself from it. So I thought I'd have to learn how to program to be able to hack (which is wrong to some extent), but then I got interested in other things, so I never really learned how to program to hack in depth.

Life

I grew up in a small mountain village in the French Alps, where my Dutch parents found refuge, fleeing the flatness of Holland. When I was three years old my father found a job in Bern and travelled back and forth between Bern and our village. At the age of 14, I got stuck in the rigidity of l'éducation nationale française - the French national school system. This was one of the reasons why we moved as a family to Bern. Despite feeling sometimes a bit lost in the German language and the Swiss dialect, the Steiner School in Bern and Ittigen has been a very stimulating learning environment. It is here that I discovered my love for drawing, animation and street art in addition to video games. I found my own way to use these skills in the digital world and I am very much ready to take it to the next level.
